Hop aboard the hype express, ladies and germs, for sharp eyes have spotted the upcoming Treo 680 at Fry's Electronics (of all places). No other news to report, other than that Palm must hate the media since nobody in the fourth estate has received one yet. Current rumors point to the device's release date as being November 5 for $275 with a two-year, soul-draining contract with Cingular. Happy happy, joy joy!

i'll pass... im waiting for the 750
And the FREE rumour you posted is so quickly forgotten. It's like an apple video ipod rumour.
Palm fans will wet their pants if/when they ever add integrated WiFi.
Geisrud,
Palm isn't generally known for giving a crap what it's "fans" want.
Besides, those would be HTC and Access fans nowadays anyway.
Strider - I know Palm doesn't listen. That's why their "fans" would wet their pants if they ever did.
At the very least, they would make the WiFi-SD card work with [arguably] their most popular model, the 650.
Excuse me, but WiFi on a cell phone sucks. I have a Cingular 8125. I almost never use the WiFi outside of my own home because it's slowwww and expensive. No real free hotspots in NYC. Unlimited data plan is all I need.
The Enfora WiFi sled works great with the 650.
Just make a damn 3G GSM treo already!!! And not that fat, lame ass Voda version either. I want something lustworthy like the Q.
$275 with a 2-year contract??? I find it hard to believe Palm (or Cingular) is that stupid.
I wish either palm or rim would make one of there power phones as a flip...It would just be nice to have a choice.
I too find the $275 price on the 680 a bit unbelievable. The whole point of the 680 is that it's supposed to be the low cost version of the treo and that's only $20 shy of the 650 BEFORE the now standard mail-in rebate. I just can't imagine ANY company being quite that stupid with it's best selling product.
I'd love to see the phone for free with a 2 year contract, like the previous rumor. If palm was smart, they'd not sell it for almost as much as the 650. That kinda defeats the point of a "lower end" model.
